Ross Daly

Ross Daly is a talented musician with a unique vision and passion. His formal music training, on violin, viola and piano, was through the Classical stream culminating with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance from the University of Toronto (1987), after having attended the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto) for many years. After several years of performing in the symphonic scene in such orchestras as the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony, Hamilton Philharmonic, Thunder Bay, Windsor and Niagara Symphonies, Ross ventured into other styles of music including Jazz, Latin, Celtic, New Age, Pop and Rock, and also began composing some truly original works. Ross has honed his music arranging skills over the past 32 years having written hundreds of scores for string duos, trios, quartets, ensembles and symphony orchestra. He also performs in and arranges all the music for Mannheim Virtuosi and The Classical Rock Show.

For the past 10 years, he has toured with Bounty Enterprises tribute show productions to ABBA (ABBA-Mania), Bee Gees (Night Fever), Rod Stewart (Forever Young), Tom Jones, Tina Turner, Neil Diamond (Solitary Man), Ray Charles, Engelbert Humperdinck, Elvis (Steven Kabakos), Glitter Sisters (Disco Chicks) as electric violinist, keyboardist and/or orchestra music arranger and conductor. He has also on occasion stepped in as "Maurice Gibb" in the Bee Gees show "Night Fever". Ross recently conducted the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra with the ABBA-Mania and Bee Gees shows. In partnership with his musician-wife, Angela Cox-Daly, Ross is the co-founder of the "Daly Music Academy", as well as music education director and instructor. In addition, he enjoys adjudicating at music festivals and competitions. Together, Ross & Angela also manage the entertainment agency "Daly Live Music & Entertainment" which provides live music and entertainment for all types of special events - worldwide! Their three children are musician members of the wonderful Kitchener Waterloo Youth Orchestra program.

Ross' performances - as soloist with sequenced accompaniment or with his live band (vocals optional) - can be varied to create the atmosphere you desire.

From serene classics, swinging Jazz, spicy Latin, energetic Rock and Blues, to his own enigmatic originals, each show delivers dynamic entertainment value in a professional manner as Ross has done over the past twenty years.

Ross can be heard throughout Canada at various festivals and fairs, and in concert with one of his many bands and ensembles:

�Blue Canoe� - the prime ensemble for the expression of his original works
�Wave� - his zesty Latin crew
�Mystic Fyre� - jigs up a storm Celtic style

He has also been known to combine genres and crossover musical styles creating an �electrifying� experience!

Ross also performs coast-to-coast in North America, on electric violin, in several Tribute Stage Shows, namely:

Elvis - The Way It Was (Elvis)
Forever Young (Rod Stewart)
Proud Mary (Tina Turner)

These shows also travel world-wide.

Ross had made fiddle appearances with the "All-Star Country Tribute" as well.

As an educator, Ross enjoys adjudicating, teaching, coaching and conducting young musicians across North America - be it privately (schools, personal lessons, etc.), public schools (colleges, universities, conservatories, etc.), music camps, etc. He offers master classes, coaching, and private lessons for solo performers and chamber ensembles, specializing in orchestral instruments. Also: community, youth, and high school orchestra string coaching. Available for schools (all levels), music camps, festivals and competitions.

Ross' 30 years of teaching and performance experience, along with his love for music and children, comes across in this compassionate and encouraging adjudicator! In addition to being a sought after performer and session player, he has adjudicated at several Canadian music festivals including Chatham Kiwanis, London Kiwanis, Mid-Western Ontario Rotary (Walkerton), Oshawa-Whitby Kiwanis, Pickering Kiwanis, Stratford Kiwanis........specializing in strings (violin, viola, 'cello, bass).

Workshops & Seminars:

I want to thank you again for speaking with our Public Relations students at Conestoga College (March '04 & '05). Choosing and booking entertainment for special events is an important - but often confusing - aspect of event planning. You were able to provide the students with excellent insight on what to look for in booking entertainment, the options available, and key contracting decisions. Your style was friendly and informative, and you were able to relate to the student's interests.
